Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms (Agreement to Conditions)
By engaging with the Sherlock Interactive application ("the Service"), you hereby consent to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Should any part of these Terms prove disagreeable, you must refrain from accessing the Service.
2. Description of Service (Nature of the Apparatus)
Sherlock Interactive is an experimental application employing artificial intelligence (AI) to generate interactive text-based mystery narratives set in Victorian London. The Service utilizes AI models such as Microsoft's phi-4 via the Nebius AI Studio API to process user commands and generate story content.
While considerable effort is expended to furnish coherent and engaging narratives, the quality, consistency, and logical rigor of the generated mysteries inherently depend upon the capabilities and limitations of the underlying AI models and the prompts provided.
3. Use of Service (Conduct of Engagement)
You concur to utilize the Service solely for lawful purposes and strictly in adherence to these Terms. You pledge not to employ the Service:
- In any manner that contravenes applicable national or international laws or regulations.
- To generate or disseminate content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
- To attempt unauthorized access to, interfere with, damage, or disrupt any parts of the Service, the server on which the Service is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to the Service.
- To engage in any activity that could overburden, disable, damage, or impair the Service's infrastructure or interfere with any other party's proper use of the Service.
- To impersonate or attempt to impersonate the Service operators, another user, or any other person or entity.
4. Content and Narrative (The Generated Story)
All narrative content, including characters, plots, clues, and dialogues generated within the Service, is produced by artificial intelligence based on initial prompts and user interactions. While inspired by the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, this content is fictional and original to each session.
The narratives generated are for entertainment purposes only. Any resemblance to real persons, living or deceased, or actual events is purely coincidental. The AI may occasionally produce content that is nonsensical, inconsistent, or factually incorrect within the established game world.
5. Limitation of Liability (Disclaimer of Responsibility)
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that the generated narratives will meet any particular standard of quality, coherence, or engagement.
In no event shall the operators of Sherlock Interactive be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your access to, use of, or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to, damages for loss of enjoyment, data corruption, or other intangible losses, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Your interaction with the AI is at your own discretion and risk. We are not responsible for the content generated by the AI.
6. Modifications to Service (Alterations to the Apparatus)
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice, at our sole discretion. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuance.
7. Third-Party Services (External Agencies)
Sherlock Interactive relies upon third-party services, notably the Nebius AI Studio API and the AI models (like phi-4) accessed through it. Your use of our Service implicitly involves interaction with these third-party services, which are governed by their own respective terms of service and privacy policies. We bear no responsibility for the practices, policies, or performance of these external agencies.
8. Governing Law (Jurisdiction)
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
9. Changes to Terms (Revisions to Conditions)
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. The most current version shall be posted upon this page, denoted by its effective date. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of any revisions constitutes acceptance of those changes.
